You can stretch your gas dollar in many ways. You can get better fuel economy by keeping up on your vehicle maintenance. Make sure that you get your oil changed and keep your tires properly inflated. Also be sure to avoid letting your vehicle idle for long periods of time--by idling for just one hour, you vehicle can burn through up to half a gallon of gas. You want to always use your cruise control on the highway, as long as the road conditions are safe. Don't ever speed either--not just because it is against the law, but because it will cost you $0.17 per gallon of gas. Travel light--don't drive around with a bunch of extra stuff in your vehicle if you don't need to, it will cost more in gas. You should also keep your vehicle streamlined--don't have bike racks and bins on your vehicle if you can help it.
